Los Angeles Southwest College, located in the Lakin Center, provides a healthcare facility designed for the prevention and care of athletic injuries for our 100-plus student-athletes. On-site daily care is provided for all of our student-athletes, which includes injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and healthcare advising and more.

Eligibility
Please follow the following steps to gain eligibility to participate in LASC Athletics
- Physical: Obtain a physical form, have the form filled out by a medical professional (MD, DO).
- Complete the District paperwork, making sure to sign and initial at all requested spaces
- Complete the Concussion paperwork (see below for further instructions)
- Once complete, please turn in the physical and concussion paperwork to the athletic trainer and the District paperwork to LASC's Student Services Dean Dr. Ralph Davis
Concussion
LASC's athletic trainer is responsible for presenting concussion information to our student-athletes as part of their requirement for eligibility to compete.
Here are the steps that student-athletes need to follow:
- Student-athletes need to watch a YouTube video about Preston Plevretes
- Read the NCAA Concussion Fact Sheet and an ESPN article about concussions
- IF a student-athlete cannot attend the concussion meeting, he/she must complete a quiz to ensure they understood information presented
- Sign and turn in the Concussion Statement Form along with their physical and District paperwork.
