Bio

Dr. Tangelia Alfred-Gentles collective experience in LACCD extends more than 25 years, 20 years at LASC. She is a veteran educator with strong community ties. During her time in LACCD, she has prided herself in being a strong advocate for students, faculty, classified professionals and the community. Her work has been dedicated to creating opportunities for student success. She is committed to Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion for all students.

Dr. Alfred earned her bachelor’s degree from California State University Bakersfield in Criminal Justice, a master’s degree in Educational Counseling from San Diego State University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from California State University Long Beach. During her time in LACCD she has served in a variety of leadership roles representing students, faculty, staff and the community. She has a passion for helping to improve the community and assisting students with attending and graduating from college.
