Men's Basketball Grabs Share Of 2021-22 South Coast-South Division Title
Los Angeles Southwest College's men basketball team captured a piece of the 2021-22 South Coast-South Division championship
The Los Angeles Southwest College men's basketball team captured a share of the 2021-22 South Coast-South Division title. LASC, Cerritos College and Long Beach City College all finished the regular season with a 7-3 record in division play.
The Cougars have been led by first year Head Coach Mack Cleveland as well as strong outside shooting and inside play.
Brandon Fredrick, a 5-foot-10 guard from St. Louis, Mo., led the conference in scoring by averaging 25.7 points a game, in total three pointers with 133, and steals per game with 2.5.
Guard Damerius Wash led the conference in rebounds averaging more than nine a game, while center Karl Jones finished in the top five in field goal percentage. Guard Antoine Bloxton averaged close to 17 points a game, which put him in the top five in the conference.
This is the second straight season that the Cougars have won a slice of the division title. They did so in the 2019-20 season as well. The 2020-21 season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
