Vistory Slips Away from Southwest by One

SAN JOSE, CA: LA Southwest battled through a full four quarters but came up short after seeing its late rally stall in the fourth quarter. Southwest had its chances to pull ahead down the stretch, but a missed layup followed by a traveling call ended the final opportunity to shift the momentum. The Cougars showed resilience throughout the contest while competing without Star Hernandez, who was held out due to a minor injury.

Kelis Jones and Rian Dillihunt each played all 40 minutes to anchor Southwest on both ends of the floor. Jones led the team with 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including six three-pointers, while adding eight rebounds and six assists. Dillihunt finished with 14 points, seven assists, and six steals in a full-court effort. Emaya Trahan contributed 11 points and seven rebounds, while Destiny Hurt-Floyd added eight points, six assists, and six steals. LaiLah Whittle scored six points off the bench as Southwest closed the night shooting 35.3 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range.
